MANILA - A Filipino-Canadian film critic and his Slovenian live-in partner were shot dead inside their home in Quezon City, Tuesday night.
The victims were identified as Filipino-Canadian Alexis Tioseco, film critic and contributor to several publications, and Slovenian Nika Bohinc, a freelance film journalist.
Quezon City policemen are now hunting down the victims' household helper identified only as Criselda.
Another household helper, Magdalena Patpat, said Criselda let 3 gunmen enter the couple's home on Time Street, Barangay West Triangle, around 10 pm.
Patpat told police investigators that the gunmen hog-tied and covered her mouth with a cloth while clearing the couples' home of valuables.
One of the gunmen shot the couple as they entered their home, police said.
Village official Noel Lopez said it was the driver of the couple’s neighbour who rushed to the barangay hall to report the shooting incident around 11:00 pm.
Lopez said the driver heard four gunshots from the couple’s home.
He said he and a group of village watchmen discovered Patpat and the bodies of the couple.
The assailants escaped with Criselda using the couple's white Ford Lynx with plate number CPW-329, which was recovered by p olice along West Avenue, Quezon City around 4 a.m. Wednesday.
Police said the assailants carted away an undetermined amount of jewelries and a laptop from the victims.
